What is a hosted phone system? - It's an access from anywhere phone system that can integrate your business numbers, mobile and home lines allowing you to call from any of those presenting your business number - or any number you own - to the person you're calling. Unlike a phone system with it's own dedicated phone lines at an office the hosted system is location independent so you can work with it from anywhere you can access WIFI, 3G, 4G, mobile line, home line or indeed any phone line anywhere.

Business continuity - As your data and server structure exists in a secure backed up data centre you are no longer dependant on your physical location to operate as you can access all your data and services from any internet connection. If you can't get in your building for any reason or you have a power cut you can still plug handsets in at home for example or use a softphone on a laptop and work that way. Any features such as auto attendant, call recording and integration with online CRM will still function as the data centre won't be affected by your office powercut or other isue.
Less pressure to have a high speed expensive internet circuit at the office to connect mobile and homeworkers - The hosted model connects your mobile and home workers from wherever they are to the hosted system in the data centre. This means your office internet access doesn't have to handle those connections directly into your office - all handsets and users connect to the hosted system from wherever they are.
Try advanced features without expensive capital outlay - Because we can switch features on and off per user on a monthly basis you can try out features that would otherwise cost a lot of money and or require specialist dedicated in house hardware and expensive to setup when used with an in house phone system. For example a PC based Professional call recording setup would be several thousand pounds depending on how many phone lines you have.
Call queuing in the network - The hosted option offers you a call queuing or message option in the network. So if all your users are on the phone a caller can still queue or leave a message. With an in house phone system once all your lines are busy the next caller in will hear busy tone.
